Data we collect
We collect: your name, your email address, your course purchase history and your progress (videos watched, ratings and reviews). Payment data is processed by our providers Stripe and PayPal: we store no banking data. For instructors: public profile (display name, rank, city, biography, photo) and PayPal payout address.
Purposes and legal basis
Your data is used to create and manage your account, process your purchases and give you access to courses, track your progress, pay instructors their share, manage referrals, and send you service emails (verification, password reset, purchase confirmation, information). Legal basis: performance of the contract, legitimate interest and, for information emails, your consent.
Processors
We rely on the following providers, which process some data on our behalf:
- Stripe — card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments
- PayPal — PayPal payments and instructor payouts
- Amazon Web Services — secure video hosting and delivery (Paris)
- Brevo — email delivery
- Clever Cloud — website hosting (Nantes, France)
Transfers outside the EU
As IBUDOKAN LTD is established in the United Kingdom, your data may be processed there. The United Kingdom benefits from an adequacy decision of the European Commission, guaranteeing a level of protection equivalent to the GDPR.
Retention
Your account data is kept as long as your account is active, then deleted or anonymised within a reasonable time after closure. Billing and payout data is kept in accordance with legal accounting obligations.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection. To exercise them: contact@ibudokan.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL; in the United Kingdom, the ICO).
Cookies
The site uses cookies strictly necessary to its operation (session, language, security) and a 30-day referral cookie when you arrive through a member's link. No analytics or advertising cookies are used.
